Igenity® Beef Profile
Developed for use in commercial crossbred and composite Bos Taurus cattle. Suitable for crossbred or composite cattle containing Angus, Red Angus, Simmental, Limousin, Gelbvieh or Hereford genetics.

Igenity Beef is a genetic profiling test specifically designed for commercial Bos Taurus crossbred and composite cattle to assist producers select, manage and market their cattle with more confidence.
Igenity Beef uses DNA to rank the genetic merit of animals for 17 key traits, including:
- Maternal: Birth weight, calving ease direct, calving ease maternal, stayability, heifer pregnancy, docility, and milk.
- Performance: Residual feed intake, average daily gain, weaning weight, scrotal circumference and yearling weight.
- Carcass: Tenderness, marbling, ribeye area, fat thickness, and hot carcass weight.
Igenity Beef results can be used to determine your highest genetic value calves, which heifers to retain for your breeding herd, and which calves to keep as commercial sires.
Results are reported back in a simple format as a score from 1 to 10.
Results can be used in conjunction with three indexes for production, terminal or maternal performance – or customise your own index to suit your breeding objectives – to prioritise selection emphasis for the traits most important to your business, without compromising production from other correlated traits.
Igenity Beef is suitable for testing crossbred or composite animals containing Angus, Red Angus, Simmental, Limousin, Gelbvieh and/or Hereford genetics. Animals with up to 50% Bos indicus content can be tested.
Parentage assignment and BVDV testing are available as optional add-on tests to Igenity Beef.
Igenity Beef was developed in the United States and is powered by the International Genetic Solutions (IGS) genetic evaluation, the world’s largest multi-breed genetic evaluation.
